“Public Juridic Persons in the Church Conference” was held in Sydney Australia in 2009. For some years, those in Church leadership have been exploring creative ways to maximise the potential of the laity to move into the governance of the Church’s human service organisations in a more significant way. Hence, the establishment of new forms of Church governance – the Public Juridic Person (PJP).
This Conference explored four aspects of the formation of these PJPs: The Canonical Dimension, The Lay Ecclesial Dimension, The Experiential Dimension and the Formation Dimension. The Keynote Speakers were:
